YALA is an ethical and sustainable accessories brand inspired by the Kenyan heritage of founder Audrey Migot.

Designed with modern women in mind, Yala was founded by Kenyan-born Audrey Migot-Adholla to create ethical jewellery made to last. The brand was named after the town her grandma lived in. Now based in Bristol, UK, Audrey splits her time between the two countries working directly with over 150 artisans in Kenya, ensuring they receive fair wages, work in safe and healthy environments, and real recognition for their talent all while using eco-friendly materials. Each collection is exclusively made in small batches to create as little environmental impact as possible.

I worked directly with Audrey from the get go helping her to understand her proposition and visually articulate this in a way that would appeal to her target audience. We created a completely new brand identity from scratch for Yala, taking influence from their african heritage to create a logomark inspired by the distinct patterning found in the fabrics used.
